Snapchat's 2024 Year in Review: Accessing Your Snap Recap
Looking back on the past year is easier than ever with the help of various apps. Snapchat's new 2024 Snap Recap feature provides a fun, personalized summary of your year on the platform.
What is a Snap Recap?
Unlike Spotify Wrapped or Twitch recaps, the Snap Recap doesn't focus on detailed statistics. Instead, it curates a slideshow of memorable Snaps, one for each month of 2024, offering a lighthearted retrospective. It's a randomly selected highlight reel, not a comprehensive data analysis. The Recap seamlessly integrates with other Memories features, allowing you to explore past memories from the same dates in previous years.
How to View Your 2024 Snap Recap
Your 2024 Snap Recap is automatically generated and easily accessible. Simply swipe up from the main camera screen (avoiding the shutter button) to open Memories. Your recap, usually prominently displayed, will appear as a highlighted video.
Tap the Snap Recap (avoiding the share icon) to begin viewing. The slideshow plays automatically, but you can tap to advance through the selected Snaps. You can save, edit, share, or add your Recap to your Story, just like any other Snap. Privacy settings remain the same; it's private unless you choose to share it.
Why Don't I Have a Snapchat Recap?
If your 2024 Snap Recap isn't appearing, it's likely due to one of two reasons:
- Rollout Timing: Snapchat is gradually releasing the feature, so yours may not be generated yet.
- Snap Frequency: The number of saved Snaps influences whether a Recap is created. Infrequent use or limited photo/video sharing may prevent a Recap from being generated.
Unfortunately, if you don't receive a Recap after waiting, you cannot request one from Snapchat Support.
