We're back with another update on Ubisoft. While the company navigates ongoing challenges, there's some positive news: a significant issue has been resolved.
Ubisoft has finally addressed compatibility problems between several Assassin's Creed titles and the Windows 11 24H2 update. Since at least Fall 2024, this incompatibility rendered games like Assassin's Creed Origins and Assassin's Creed Valhalla, among others, unplayable on the new OS. The solution arrived via newly released patches, announced on the Steam pages for Origins and Valhalla.
Player response to the patches has been overwhelmingly positive. Comments under the patch notes express relief and gratitude, with many acknowledging that the problem stemmed from Windows, not Ubisoft's development. Despite this, the recent Steam reviews for both games remain "Mixed."
There's cautious optimism surrounding Assassin's Creed Shadows, recently delayed until March 20th. Ubisoft aims to use this extra time to improve the game's quality, recognizing its launch as potentially crucial to the company's future.
