Ever since the days of Pokemon TCG Pocket's Genetic Apex, Metal-type Pokémon like Meltan and Melmetal have faced challenges. They experienced a minor resurgence during the Mythical Island expansion, but with Dialga Ex's arrival, this could finally be a competitive archetype.
Dialga Ex brings much-needed consistency to the deck. Its Metallic Turbo ability lets you attach two Metal Energy to your Benched Pokémon, speeding up your progression to Melmetal.
Additionally, Mew Ex and Tauros serve as effective counters within this deck, benefiting from Metallic Turbo as well. Mew Ex's Genome Hacking and Tauros's attacks both require only Colorless Energy, allowing you to power them up quickly while attacking with Dialga Ex.

While I generally favor Yanmega Ex in a Grass-type deck alongside Exeggutor Ex, it synergizes well with Dialga Ex, particularly due to its Colorless Energy requirement. Yanmega Ex's Air Slash deals a solid 120 damage, capable of one-shotting many opponents. The drawback is the need to discard an Energy, but Dialga Ex's Metallic Turbo can quickly rebuild your Energy reserves.
It's worth considering that Dialga Ex could fit seamlessly into many Colorless decks thanks to Metallic Turbo. Although Yanmega Ex might be its ideal Colorless partner, experimenting with other strong Colorless decks like Pidgeot or Pidgeot Ex could be beneficial.
