SwitchArcade Round-Up: Reviews Featuring ‘Fitness Boxing feat. Hatsune Miku’, Plus New Releases, Sales, and Good-Byes

by Eric Feb 01,2025

Farewell, SwitchArcade Readers! This is the final regular SwitchArcade Round-Up from me. After several years, I'm moving on to new adventures. But before I go, let's dive into one last roundup of reviews, new releases, and sales.

Reviews & Mini-Views

Fitness Boxing feat. HATSUNE MIKU ($49.99)

Imagineer's Fitness Boxing series continues with a Hatsune Miku collaboration. This rhythm-boxing game offers daily workouts, minigames, and Miku-themed content. While the core gameplay is solid, featuring adjustable difficulty, free training, and cosmetic unlocks, the main instructor's voice is a bit jarring. Best used as a supplement to other fitness routines. Joy-Con-only.

SwitchArcade Score: 4/5

Magical Delicacy ($24.99)

A Metroidvania-cooking hybrid, Magical Delicacy blends exploration, crafting, and charming pixel art. While the Metroidvania aspects are well-executed, inventory management and UI could use improvement. The game shines visually and aurally, with customizable UI scaling. Some frame pacing issues noted on Switch.

SwitchArcade Score: 4/5

Aero The Acro-Bat 2 ($5.99)

A surprisingly polished reissue of the Super NES classic. Ratalaika Games has delivered a superior emulation experience with added features like achievements, a gallery, and cheats. While the Genesis/Mega Drive version is absent, this release is a solid offering for fans of 16-bit platformers.

SwitchArcade Score: 3.5/5

Metro Quester | Osaka ($19.99)

A prequel to Metro Quester, this expansion-like title adds a new Osaka-based dungeon, characters, and mechanics to the turn-based RPG formula. Requires patience and strategic planning. A great addition for fans of the original.

SwitchArcade Score: 4/5

This concludes my time writing the SwitchArcade Round-Up. Thank you for reading. I'll continue writing elsewhere.
