Super Pocket from Evercade debuts two new editions for the classic Atari and Technos libraries

by Sarah Jan 17,2025

Evercade's Super Pocket handheld line expands with Atari and Technos editions! These new handhelds will feature classic games from the respective platforms. A limited-edition, wood-grain version of the Atari handheld (only 2600 units!) will also be available soon.

Game preservation is a contentious topic, but Evercade offers a legitimate way to play retro games without exorbitant secondhand costs. Following the successful Capcom and Taito releases, the Atari and Technos editions add to the Evercade Super Pocket lineup, launching in October 2024.

A Retro Revival

With the handheld market largely dominated by emulation, official releases like Evercade's are a welcome addition. While some might view the limited 2600-unit wood-grain Atari edition as a marketing ploy, the overall quality and reputation of Evercade remain strong. The Super Pocket's compatibility with existing Evercade cartridges ensures easy portability for your retro game collection.

The new Super Pocket editions hit stores in October 2024. In the meantime, check out our list of the best and most anticipated mobile games of 2024 for some immediate gaming options!
