Subway Surfers City Soft Launches on iOS and Android

by Gabriella Jan 24,2025

Sybo Games has quietly released a new mobile title, Subway Surfers City, for iOS and Android in select regions. This soft launch offers a glimpse into a sequel to their massively popular Subway Surfers franchise.

The game boasts improved graphics and incorporates many features added to the original over its decade-long lifespan. Expect to see familiar characters alongside new additions like hoverboards.

A Bold Move?

Creating a sequel to their flagship game is a significant risk for Sybo. The original Subway Surfers, while immensely successful, is showing its age due to its aging Unity engine. The stealth launch is an intriguing strategy, especially considering the game's global popularity.

Currently, the iOS soft launch includes the UK, Canada, Denmark, Indonesia, Netherlands, and the Philippines. Android users in Denmark and the Philippines can also access the game.

Player reaction to Subway Surfers City will be closely watched. While a wider release date remains unannounced, anticipation is high. For those unable to access the soft launch, numerous other top mobile games are available to enjoy in the meantime. Check out our list of the best mobile games of 2024 for more options!
