Zynga, publisher of Star Wars Hunters, has confirmed the game will cease operations entirely just nine months post-launch, with planned PC release plans on Steam now canceled.
The free-to-play team arena battler, developed by NaturalMotion, initially launched on Nintendo Switch and mobile devices in June 2024. IGN's Star Wars: Hunters review awarded it 7/10, noting: "While offering fun PvP entertainment, the experience feels more like a brief Death Star tour than a lasting destination."
This assessment proved accurate as Zynga stated their "carefully considered" decision to sunset the game after its final content update on April 15, with servers remaining operational until October 1, 2025.

"We recognize this news brings disappointment, and assure players this wasn't an easy choice," Zynga's statement continued. "Your dedication to the game and community has been invaluable, and we'll maintain transparency throughout this transition."
The shutdown roadmap begins March 25 with Season 5 extended by three weeks, featuring returning events and shop bundles. Players gain additional time to reach Kyber 1 rank in the extended Ranked Season.
April 15 marks the final content update - introducing new Support Hunter Tuya at no cost while disabling in-game purchases. All existing content and battle modes will remain available through server shutdown on October 1.
Notably absent from announcements is the planned PC version, previously slated for Steam Early Access this year. The Steam store page now carries an "unavailable" notice.
Zynga (owned by Take-Two) primarily focuses on mobile titles like FarmVille and Words With Friends. Star Wars Hunters represented their first console venture and would have marked their PC debut.
Star Wars gaming fans can anticipate several upcoming projects, including Respawn's next Jedi installment and Bit Reactor's strategy title planned for reveal at Star Wars Celebration 2025.
