Squid Game: Unleashed is celebrating Season Two with a massive content drop! Get ready for new characters, a new map, exciting challenges, and exclusive rewards for watching the new episodes.
Netflix's surprising move to offer Squid Game: Unleashed free to all players, even non-subscribers, continues with this enticing update. The strategy is clear: reward existing players and entice new ones with in-game goodies tied to watching the show.
What's in store for current players? Starting January 3rd, a brand-new map inspired by the Mingle mini-game from Squid Game Season Two arrives. Three new playable characters—Geum-Ja, Yong-Sik, and rapper Thanos—will also debut throughout January.
Geum-Ja and Thanos each have special in-game events running from January 3rd to 9th and January 9th to 14th respectively, offering ways to unlock them. And the best part? Watching Squid Game Season Two unlocks in-game Cash and Wild Tokens! Watching up to seven episodes even unlocks the exclusive Binni Binge-Watcher outfit.
Here's the January schedule for Squid Game: Unleashed:
- January 3rd: Mingle map and Geum-Ja character launch. The Dalgona Mash Up Collection Event begins, challenging players to complete Mingle-inspired mini-games and collect Dalgona tins (until January 9th).
- January 9th: Thanos arrives with his own recruitment event, the Thanos’ Red Light Challenge. Eliminate players using knives to earn this character (until January 14th).
- January 16th: Yong-Sik joins the roster as the final new character in this update.
Squid Game: Unleashed is proving to be a significant step for Netflix's gaming ambitions. The free-to-play model, coupled with the incentive to watch the show for in-game rewards, cleverly intertwines the game and the series, creating a synergistic marketing strategy.
