Triangle Strategy Returns to Nintendo Switch eShop
Great news for RPG fans! Triangle Strategy, the acclaimed tactical RPG from Square Enix, is back on the Nintendo Switch eShop after a short absence. The game's temporary delisting, lasting several days, has ended, allowing players to once again purchase and download the title.
This popular Square Enix game, lauded for its revival of classic tactical RPG gameplay, drew comparisons to franchises like Fire Emblem. Its strategic unit maneuvering and damage optimization resonated strongly with players.
The reason for the brief removal remains unconfirmed. However, speculation points to Square Enix's recent acquisition of the game's publishing rights from Nintendo. This isn't the first time a Square Enix title has been temporarily delisted; Octopath Traveler experienced a similar situation last year. However, Triangle Strategy's return was much quicker, taking only four days compared to Octopath Traveler's several-week absence.
This event underscores the strong relationship between Square Enix and Nintendo. The companies have a long history of collaboration, evident in past releases like the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series (initially a Switch exclusive) and the definitive edition of Dragon Quest 11. This ongoing partnership benefits Nintendo Switch owners with access to high-profile Square Enix titles. While Square Enix's games eventually reach other platforms, the Switch often enjoys console exclusivity for notable titles like the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (currently PlayStation 5 exclusive).
