Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon is leaving Netflix, but the devs are exploring options to keep it available on mobile

Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon Digs Out of Netflix Games

Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon is leaving Netflix Games, developer Yacht Club Games announced. While this is disappointing news for Netflix subscribers who enjoyed the game, it will remain available on other platforms including Steam, Switch, and PlayStation 4.

The developers confirmed the departure on Twitter, adding that they are actively exploring future options for the game. This suggests a potential standalone mobile release is being considered, though a timeframe hasn't been revealed.

The Subscription Service Conundrum

The removal highlights a key risk inherent in subscription gaming services: limited ownership and reliance on developers for continued access. While Yacht Club Games likely has options for the game's future, a return might not be immediate. We can hope for a possible reappearance in 2025.
