Apple TV+’s critically acclaimed psychological thriller, Severance, has been officially renewed for a third season. The show, created by Ben Stiller and Dan Erickson, is Apple TV+’s most popular series, with its recently concluded second season achieving the highest viewership numbers for the streamer. IGN's review of Severance Season 2 offers a detailed look at the season's events.
“Making Severance has been one of the most creatively exciting experiences I’ve ever been a part of,” said Stiller. “While I have no memory of this, I’m told making Season 3 will be equally enjoyable, though any recollection of these future events will be forever and irrevocably wiped from my memory as well.”
Adam Scott, star and executive producer, added, “I couldn’t be more excited to get back to work with Ben, Dan, the incredible cast and crew, Apple, and the whole Severance team. Oh hey also - not a huge deal - but if you see my innie, please don’t mention any of this to him. Thanks.”
Season 3 of Severance is available upon request.

Apple’s official synopsis:
In Severance, Mark Scout (Scott) leads a team at Lumon Industries, whose employees undergo a severance procedure surgically dividing their memories between work and personal lives. This daring experiment in ‘work-life balance’ is called into question as Mark finds himself at the center of an unraveling mystery, forcing him to confront the true nature of his work… and of himself.
Season 2 explores the dire consequences of tampering with the severance barrier, leading Mark and his colleagues further down a perilous path. Season 2 welcomes new series regulars Sarah Snook and Ólafur Darri Ólafsson.
While a release date for Season 3 remains unannounced, Ben Stiller recently appeared on Jason and Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast, assuring fans that the wait won't be as long as the three-year gap between Seasons 1 and 2.
“No, the plan is not to [wait three years],” Stiller stated. “Definitely not. Hopefully we’ll be announcing the plan very soon. That will not be that!” He attributed the delay between seasons to the writers’ and actors’ strike and the extensive production process of Season 2, which involved 186 days of shooting and extensive editing.
In the meantime, IGN's Severance Season 2 Ending Explained provides insight into how the season sets up Season 3.
