The fan's journey began after being deeply affected by the game's ending, where Batman confronts his fears, paranoia, and hallucinations. This resonated profoundly with the fan, mirroring his own battle with schizophrenia. In gratitude, he shared his story with Conroy, explaining how the Dark Knight's resilience inspired him to keep fighting his own struggles.
The unexpected length and depth of Conroy's response were a surprise. The fan shared, "This video has saved me from suicide countless times. Hearing Batman say he believed in me was incredibly powerful... But as time went on, it became just as important that it was Kevin himself who believed in me."
