Save Game Guide for R.E.P.O.

by Eleanor May 07,2025

Dive into the thrilling world of *R.E.P.O.*, a cooperative horror game that brings up to six players together for a physics-based retrieval adventure. As you navigate through diverse maps, your mission is to locate valuables and safely extract them. But what happens if you don't save your progress? Here's a comprehensive guide on how to save your game in *R.E.P.O.*, ensuring your hard work doesn't vanish into thin air.

How To Save Your Game in R.E.P.O.

One of the most frustrating experiences in gaming is discovering that your recent progress hasn't been saved. This can be particularly aggravating with new games like *R.E.P.O.*, where the save mechanics might not be immediately clear. Unlike some games that offer autosave and manual save options, *R.E.P.O.* operates differently.

In *R.E.P.O.*, the key to saving your game is completing the level you're on. The game features an autosave system that only activates when you finish a level. There's no option for manual saving, so if you exit during a retrieval mission or if your character dies (sending you to the Disposal Arena), your progress up to that point is lost, and you'll need to start over. Importantly, upon death in *R.E.P.O.*, your save file is deleted, and exiting mid-level means you'll have to restart from the beginning of that level.

To save your game, you must successfully complete a level or location. This involves delivering your valuables to the Extraction Point, entering or finding your way back to the truck, and signaling your AI boss, the Taxman, by holding the message button above your head. This action cues the transition to the Service Station. At the Service Station, you can engage in shopping or other activities before proceeding to the next level using the same button.

After leaving the Service Station, you'll arrive at your next location. It's at this point, and only at this point, that it's safe to exit to the main menu or quit the game. The next time you or the host (if another player created the original save file) start the game, you can jump back into *R.E.P.O.* as usual. It's crucial to remember that the host is responsible for exiting the game at the right time to ensure the game saves correctly; once the host quits, all other players are also ejected from the game.

Now that you're equipped with the knowledge on how to save your game in *R.E.P.O.*, enhance your gameplay further by exploring our other guides tailored to help you and your team succeed in your next mission.

*R.E.P.O. is available now on PC.*
