Resembling an extended DualSense controller with an 8-inch 1080p LCD screen, the PS Portal streams PS5 games at up to 60fps. It features haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and a touchscreen replacing the DualSense touchpad. While previously requiring a PS5, a recent update allows streaming directly from PlayStation Now, granting access to over 120 games with a PlayStation Plus Premium subscription. This eliminates the need for a PS5, making the $18 monthly subscription a more appealing alternative to the upfront cost of a console and individual games.
It's important to note that the PS Portal isn't the only way to stream PS5 games. The PS Remote Play app offers similar functionality, although setup is more complex and some DualSense features might be lost.

"The PlayStation Portal surprised me. It's far superior to using a phone with a clip-on controller and works better than expected. I appreciate the freedom to play my PS5 anywhere with decent Wi-Fi. However, the lack of browser-based Wi-Fi access and Bluetooth audio support are notable drawbacks. Despite these issues, it's currently the best solution for PlayStation Remote Play. Without those limitations, it would be a must-have for any PS5 owner who enjoys handheld gaming."
