Housemarque's creative director, Gregory Louden, has shared that Saros is designed to stand independently from Returnal, creating a new intellectual property (IP) that will refine and expand upon the storytelling and mechanics of its predecessor. While Returnal offered an ever-changing roguelike experience across shifting biomes, Saros introduces permanent and evolving loadouts, including weapons and suits. This new feature allows players to "Come Back Stronger," enhancing their ability to overcome any challenges they encounter.
