Marvel Rivals Season 1: Mastering Recursive Destruction in Midtown

Season 1 of Marvel Rivals explodes onto the scene with new characters, maps, and game modes, alongside a fresh set of challenges rewarding players with free in-game items, including a Thor skin. This guide focuses on unlocking Recursive Destruction in the Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown map.

Understanding Recursive Destruction

The initial challenge within the "Blood Moon Over the Big Apple" section requires triggering Recursive Destruction. This mechanic involves destroying Dracula-influenced objects, which then reappear in their original state. However, not all destructible objects will trigger this effect.

Identifying Destructible Objects

To locate the correct objects, utilize Chrono Vision. Accessible via the "B" key (keyboard) or the right D-pad button (console), Chrono Vision highlights destructible objects in red. Only these red-highlighted objects will trigger Recursive Destruction.

Completing the Challenge in Midtown

This challenge specifically requires playing the Quick Match (Midtown) mode. At the match's outset, Chrono Vision may not highlight any red objects. This is because the relevant objects only appear after the first checkpoint. Two buildings will then become available to trigger Recursive Destruction.

During the match, locate and destroy these buildings. While the reappearance might be missed in the heat of battle, multiple hits on each building should complete the challenge. If unsuccessful, simply replay the match. After completing this challenge, focus on subsequent challenges involving the new characters, Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman.

Marvel Rivals is currently available on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.
