What Is Promo Card 8 in Pokemon TCG Pocket? New Hidden Promo Card, Explained

by Aurora Feb 27,2025

For completionists playing Pokemon TCG Pocket, the Promo Card section is usually a satisfyingly short list to complete. However, the enigmatic Promo Card 008 is currently causing frustration.

The Appearance of Promo Card 008

The unobtainable Promo Card 008 appeared around January 2025 in the Promo – A Card Dex, creating a noticeable gap between Professor Oak (007) and Pikachu (009). While its existence might have been implied earlier due to its numbering, it only recently appeared as a blank space on the list. This has left players eager to learn how to acquire it.

Unveiling Promo Card 008

Although currently unobtainable, investigating related cards (like Red Card 006 or Pokedex 004) reveals a preview of Promo Card 008. It's an alternate-art Pokedex featuring Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle.

The card's information states it will be "obtained from a campaign," similar to the New Year 2025 Pikachu card (Promo 026). This differs from cards acquired through missions or Wonder Pick events, suggesting a promotional giveaway.

The exact release date and method for obtaining Pokemon TCG Pocket Promo Card 008 remain unknown. However, players hoping to complete their collection can anticipate its arrival soon. In the meantime, the option to hide unowned cards can temporarily alleviate the visual disruption.

Pokemon TCG Pocket is available now on mobile devices.
