Pokémon Champions, Game Freak's Leaked Multiplayer Game, Officially Revealed

by Samuel Mar 06,2025

Following months of speculation and leaks, Pokémon Champions, a new multiplayer battle-focused Pokémon game, has been officially unveiled. Developed collaboratively by Game Freak and The Pokémon Works (a joint venture between The Pokémon Company and ILCA, the studio behind Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl), this title focuses on core-style Pokémon battles.

The trailer showcased both Mega Evolution and Terastalization, hinting at a broad range of Pokémon and battle styles across various generations.

PlayCrucially, Pokémon Champions will integrate with Pokémon Home, enabling players to transfer Pokémon from previous games, finally providing a purpose for those hundreds of Pokémon gathering digital dust in storage.

Currently in development for Nintendo Switch and mobile platforms, a release date remains unannounced. The game will support Latin American Spanish at launch, in addition to other languages commonly featured in Pokémon titles.

Interestingly, Pokémon Champions appears to be the same game previously leaked last year as "Pokémon Synapse," part of the extensive "Freak Leak." While initial details were scarce, suggesting a multiplayer experience, comparisons to Splatoon now seem inaccurate. This official reveal clarifies the game's focus and features.
