Following months of speculation and leaks, Pokémon Champions, a new multiplayer battle-focused Pokémon game, has been officially unveiled. Developed collaboratively by Game Freak and The Pokémon Works (a joint venture between The Pokémon Company and ILCA, the studio behind Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl), this title focuses on core-style Pokémon battles.
The trailer showcased both Mega Evolution and Terastalization, hinting at a broad range of Pokémon and battle styles across various generations.
Crucially, Pokémon Champions will integrate with Pokémon Home, enabling players to transfer Pokémon from previous games, finally providing a purpose for those hundreds of Pokémon gathering digital dust in storage.
Currently in development for Nintendo Switch and mobile platforms, a release date remains unannounced. The game will support Latin American Spanish at launch, in addition to other languages commonly featured in Pokémon titles.
