Niantic, the event organizer, has confirmed the event will continue, but acknowledging the hardships faced by many, will offer refunds to ticket holders. These refunds can be requested through in-app support until February 23rd. Niantic also pledged further support for the local community and urged attendees to prioritize safety and follow all health guidelines.

Beyond the Game

The wildfires significantly impacted Los Angeles, a city synonymous with Hollywood. Niantic's decision to proceed with the event suggests a desire to contribute to the city's recovery and restoration of normalcy. Their commitment to additional community support is welcomed, mirroring the broader outpouring of aid from the media industry. Players are advised to remain vigilant and await further updates.
