The Pokémon Company has announced a special collection of merchandise commemorating the 25th anniversary of Pokémon Gold and Silver. This exciting range, encompassing home goods and fashion items, will debut at Pokémon Center stores across Japan on November 23, 2024. International availability is yet to be confirmed. Pre-orders begin November 21, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. JST via Pokémon Center Online and Amazon Japan.
Prices range from ¥495 (approx. $4 USD) to ¥22,000 (approx. $143 USD). Highlights include stunning Sukajan jackets (¥22,000) featuring Ho-Oh and Lugia designs, stylish day bags (¥12,100), charming 2-piece plate sets (¥1,650), plus a variety of stationery and hand towels.
Originally released in 1999 for the Game Boy Color, Pokémon Gold and Silver, developed by Game Freak, were lauded for their innovative features. The games, which introduced a groundbreaking in-game clock affecting Pokémon appearances and events, brought 100 new Pokémon (Gen 2) to the world, including Pichu, Cleffa, Hoothoot, Chikorita, Umbreon, Ho-Oh, Lugia, and many more. Their legacy continued with the 2009 Nintendo DS remakes, Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver.
