PlayStation Plus Horror Games: Top 22 Ranked for Chills

This guide explores the revamped PlayStation Plus service and its diverse game library, focusing on horror titles available through its tiers. Sony's 2022 overhaul introduced Essential, Extra, and Premium tiers, each offering distinct benefits. Online multiplayer requires at least the Essential tier, which also includes monthly free games. However, for a wider selection of horror games, Extra and Premium are necessary.

The Extra tier grants access to a vast catalog of PS5 and PS4 games, regularly updated with approximately 15 new additions monthly. The Premium tier encompasses all Extra games, plus a substantial collection of classic PS3, PS2, PS1, and PSP titles. This extensive library ensures a broad range of genres, including a notable selection of horror games.

Updated January 5, 2025 by Mark Sammut: The December 2024 PS Plus Extra and Premium additions lacked horror titles, meaning fans must rely on the existing selection. Furthermore, Resident Evil 2 will be removed on January 21, 2025, eliminating a top-tier horror option. Fortunately, its campaign length allows for completion before its removal. Resident Evil 3 remains available. A new section highlighting alternative PS Plus games appealing to horror fans has been added.
