Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack Welcomes Four Classic Titles
Battletoads/Double Dragon, Big Run, and More!
Prepare for a nostalgic gaming experience! Nintendo has unveiled four SNES titles from the early 90s, offering diverse gameplay experiences including beat 'em up action, high-speed racing, challenging puzzles, and competitive dodgeball.
First, the iconic crossover: Battletoads/Double Dragon. This mashup pits the brawling Battletoads against the Double Dragon brothers in a fight against the Dark Queen and her Shadow Warriors. Choose from five playable characters: Billy and Jimmy Lee (Double Dragon) and Zitz, Pimple, and Rash (Battletoads).
Originally released on NES in June 1993 and ported to SNES in December of the same year, this marks a long-awaited re-release for Battletoads/Double Dragon.
Next, get ready for some dodgeball mayhem with Kunio-kun no Dodgeball da yo Zen’in Shūgō! (known as Super Dodgeball in the West). Featuring Kunio-kun from the River City series, compete in intense dodgeball matches across various arenas, from indoor stadiums to outdoor beaches, each with unique challenges.
Initially launched for the Super Famicom in August 1993.
Puzzle enthusiasts will enjoy Cosmo Gang the Puzzle. Similar to Tetris and Puyo Puyo, strategically clear lines of containers and Cosmos to score points. Three modes are available: 1P Mode (solo high score challenge), VS Mode (head-to-head competition), and 100 Stage Mode (increasingly difficult puzzles). Line up containers horizontally and utilize blue orbs to remove Cosmos.
Initially released in arcades in 1992, then ported to Super Famicom in 1993, Cosmo Gang the Puzzle has seen re-releases on various platforms, including the Wii, Wii U, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4.
Finally, experience the thrill of Big Run, a high-octane racing game set across challenging African terrain. Race against the clock and rivals through nine demanding stages, managing resources and vehicle condition. Strategic choices and skillful driving are key to victory.
Big Run originally debuted on the Super Famicom in 1991.
This impressive September update significantly expands the Nintendo Switch Online library. Whether you prefer beat 'em ups, racing, puzzles, or dodgeball, this collection offers something for every gamer.
