Nintendo and LEGO have teamed up to produce some fantastic LEGO Nintendo sets. Last year alone saw the release of the impressive, interactive Mario and Yoshi set, along with the first-ever LEGO Legend of Zelda set. While these are excellent, the potential for LEGO sets based on other iconic Nintendo franchises remains largely untapped.
Currently, the market is dominated by a wide array of Mario sets (including Donkey Kong) and a respectable number of Animal Crossing sets. Beyond these, however, the selection is limited. As a devoted fan of both LEGO and Nintendo, I yearn for more options. To fellow enthusiasts, I ask: Which Nintendo franchise deserves the LEGO treatment next?
AnswerSee ResultsWhat Do You Think? With the upcoming Switch 2, anticipation for the next generation of Nintendo is high. We can likely expect more LEGO Nintendo sets, given Nintendo's continued investment in film (the new Mario movie and the eventual live-action Zelda adaptation) and upcoming Switch games. What franchises will be featured in 2025 and beyond? Share your thoughts in the comments!
Personally, I believe Metroid holds the greatest potential for exceptional LEGO sets. With Metroid Prime 4 on the horizon, it presents the ideal opportunity to create truly remarkable builds. Additionally, I'd love to see genuine LEGO Pokémon sets, rather than the existing MEGA sets. However, this might be unlikely due to the licensing agreement between Mattel and The Pokémon Company.
