Originally a Nintendo 64 exclusive, Doom 64 wasn't accessible to all gamers in the 90s. The 2020 release broadened its reach to PS4 and Xbox One players, and now, a current-gen release seems likely. The ESRB's action of updating the rating to include PS5 and Xbox Series X/S is significant, as studios generally submit games for rating close to their release date to ensure accuracy.
