NieR: Automata offers a diverse array of weapons, from the quirky Iron Pipe to the formidable Type-40 Blade. Among these unique YoRHa weapons, one stands out as particularly familiar to fans of Square Enix—the Engine Blade, a weapon iconic to Noctis from Final Fantasy XV. Players can acquire this special weapon during their first playthrough of NieR: Automata. Below, we'll guide you on where to locate it and provide an overview of its basic stats.
Where To Find The Engine Blade In NieR: Automata
The Engine Blade is hidden within the factory, but you won't be able to access it during the game's introductory section. You'll need to return to the factory as 2B later in the game. Alternatively, use Chapter Select to jump directly to Chapter 9 for a quick retrieval. Start or fast travel to the Factory: Hanger access point, which is located partway through the factory.
From the access point room, head right along the path where the camera switches to a 2D perspective. You'll pass a fenced-off section, ascend broken stairs, and navigate a conveyor belt with boxes. Be cautious of the next conveyor belt, which has dangerous presses that can crush you. After safely crossing, jump onto the next platform where you'll encounter two spider-like enemies.
Continue through the left door, climbing more stairs while dealing with descending explosive enemies. Midway, the platform extends toward the camera, altering the perspective to another 2D section. Here, you'll jump across the tops of the presses, following the path to the left. At the end of this section, you'll find a room with three chests. The Engine Blade awaits in the left chest, while a locked chest sits to the right.
Be prepared for more explosive enemies that will drop from the ceiling as you approach the chests.
