Indie studio We Are Muesli has unveiled an exciting new narrative game titled "In Their Shoes," slated for release in 2026 on both mobile and PC platforms. The game has already garnered significant attention, securing a nomination for the 'A MAZE. 2025' awards in Berlin, which celebrate independent and arthouse games.
In Their Shoes: A Narrative Game Focused on Listening
Set in the bustling, contradictory city of Milan, "In Their Shoes" allows players to immerse themselves in the lives of seven distinct characters. The game is composed of 49 short, interactive stories, each known as a Moment, offering a fleeting look into the daily experiences of these characters.
Each Moment captures the essence of the characters' hesitations, routines, and the split-second decisions they face. Some of these Moments unfold slowly, inviting players to linger with the characters' thoughts, while others demand quick reactions, mirroring the urgency of real-life situations.
Unlike other narrative games, "In Their Shoes" presents a deliberately untidy narrative. As players navigate through the fragmented stories, they uncover 26 hidden biographical details for each character, embracing the essence of slice-of-life storytelling.
While the Play Store page is yet to go live, you can explore more about the game on its Steam page. Additionally, get a sneak peek of "In Their Shoes" with the announcement trailer below:
