A Mortal Kombat 1 dataminer has uncovered strong evidence suggesting the inclusion of Hara-Kiri Fatalities, rebranded as Quitalities, in a future update.
Redditor InfiniteNightZ shared a video showcasing what appear to be Hara-Kiri animations within the game's files. Hara-Kiri finishers, allowing defeated players to self-inflict a fatality, debuted in Mortal Kombat: Deception (2004). Crucially, these animations were found for recently added DLC characters like Ghostface, bolstering the theory of their eventual implementation. InfiniteNightZ stated, "After seeing they're adding it to the downloaded roster now, I think it's highly possible."
The dataminer further hypothesized that these animations are intended as Quitalities, based on their internal designation within the game's code. Quitalities, instant finishers triggered by opponent disconnections, are a series staple. InfiniteNightZ noted, "They are listed as Quitalities, there's still hope."
Following InfiniteNightZ's discovery, prominent Mortal Kombat 1 dataminer Interloko unearthed additional Hara-Kiri animations, confirming their presence in the game's data. However, neither NetherRealm Studios nor Warner Bros. Games has officially confirmed Quitalities for Mortal Kombat 1.
The recent addition of a secret fight featuring Floyd, the pink ninja, and the community's collaborative efforts to decipher his unlock requirements, have generated significant excitement. Furthermore, the upcoming T-1000 guest character and the possibility of more DLC add to the anticipation, although unconfirmed by NetherRealm.
