Meta Discontinues Quest Pro VR Sales

by Allison Feb 19,2025

The Meta Quest Pro is officially discontinued. Meta's website confirms its unavailability, following earlier announcements about its impending end-of-life. The high price point ($1499.99) significantly hampered adoption compared to the more affordable Meta Quest line ($299.99-$499.99), leading to its discontinuation. While some remaining units might exist in retail stores, they're likely to disappear soon.

Meta recommends the Meta Quest 3 as a superior alternative. Priced at $499, the Quest 3 boasts enhanced features, including higher resolution, refresh rate, and a more powerful processor, all while offering a compelling mixed reality experience. It maintains the mixed reality focus of the Quest Pro, allowing users to overlay virtual displays onto the real world. Furthermore, the Quest 3's lighter weight and improved specs potentially provide a more comfortable user experience. Existing Touch Pro controllers are also compatible.

For budget-conscious users, the Meta Quest 3S provides a more affordable option ($299.99) with slightly reduced specifications.
