Medabot Survivors: Bullet-Hell Action for Medabots Fans, but Only in Japan (for now)
Medabot Survivors, a new bullet-hell action game based on the popular Japanese robot role-playing series, is set to launch on February 10th. However, this exciting release is currently exclusive to Japan on iOS and Android.
For those unfamiliar, Medabots gained popularity in the wake of Pokémon's global success. While other Japanese franchises like Digimon achieved Western recognition, Medabots remained relatively unknown outside of Japan. Despite this, Medabots maintains a strong following in its home country. The choice of the "Survivors" genre for this mobile adaptation is a smart move, capitalizing on the current popularity of the genre.
A Survivor's Success Story?
While often associated with Vampire Survivors, the "Survivors" genre has a longer history. Medabot Survivor's release is noteworthy, showcasing the genre's global expansion. Many excellent Japanese games unfortunately never see international releases. However, if Medabot Survivors proves successful in Japan, there's hope for a future Western launch.
