Christopher Nolan’s next film ‘The Odyssey’ is a mythic action epic shot across the world using brand new IMAX film technology. The film brings Homer’s foundational saga to IMAX film screens for the first time and opens in theaters everywhere on July 17, 2026.
The Odyssey chronicles the epic journey of Odysseus, the king of Ithaca, as he navigates his way home over a decade following the Trojan War. While Universal has kept further details under wraps, early reports suggest an impressive ensemble cast joining Matt Damon. Damon, who was the first actor linked to the project, returns to Universal after starring in Oppenheimer, which clinched seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director.
