September brings a thrilling new season to Marvel Snap (Free), themed around the iconic Spider-Man universe! This season introduces a game-changing mechanic: Activate abilities. Unlike "On Reveal," Activate abilities let players choose when to trigger a card's effect, offering strategic depth and counterplay options.
The Season Pass card, Symbiote Spider-Man (4-Cost, 6-Power), exemplifies this new mechanic. His Activate ability lets you absorb the lowest-cost card at a location and copy its effect, potentially triggering "On Reveal" abilities a second time. This card's potential for game-breaking combos, particularly with Galactus, makes it a must-have, though its power level might warrant future adjustments.
The season also introduces several exciting new cards:
- Silver Sable: (1-Cost, 1-Power) On Reveal: Steals 2 Power from the top card of your opponent's deck. A strong card on its own, and even more effective with synergistic locations and cards.
- Madame Web: (Ongoing) Allows you to move one card at her location to another location once per turn.
