Marvel Rivals Upcoming Changes
New Heroes Every Month

NetEase revealed plans for monthly hero releases during Marvel Rivals' Dev Vision Vol. 05 broadcast on April 4. Creative Director Guangguang and Lead Combat Designer Zhiyong explained this shift from the original 2-heroes-per-season schedule aims to maintain the game's freshness. Seasons will now run for two months instead of three.

Guangguang stated: "Through detailed internal analysis, we're transitioning to two-month seasons with monthly hero releases beginning Season 3." The team is also developing new game modes, potentially allowing for up to 12 new heroes annually. "Community feedback has motivated us to sustain the game's launch excitement," Guangguang added.
Regarding hero balance, Guangguang emphasized using comprehensive metrics including pick rates, win rates, and ability performance data. This analytical approach forms the foundation for maintaining competitive equilibrium with increased character additions.
