Mai Shiranui Draws Crowds to Street Fighter 6

To try out the latest fighter, players are returning to Street Fighter 6. Mai Shiranui from the Fatal Fury series has now joined the roster.

Street Fighter 6 continues to be a hit for Capcom. By December 31, 2024, the game reached 4.4 million copies sold. Though some fans feel content updates have been slow, the recent character reveal has definitely sparked excitement.

Mai Shiranui is the third fighter introduced in Season 2, and her arrival significantly boosted Street Fighter 6's player count. On her release day, Steam's concurrent player peak surged past 63,000—up from the usual 24,000–27,000—marking the highest numbers since May 2024.

The character is accessible to Battle Pass owners. In World Tour mode, you can build a relationship with Mai, learn her moves, and put them to the test in Battle Hub. A second outfit has also been added, inspired by her appearance in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.

Additionally, Battle Hub is hosting a special guest until March 10: Professor Woshige, a renowned fighting game developer and community legend. New Master League ranks and rewards have also been introduced.

Capcom released a trailer showcasing Mai’s fighting style and special moves.
