Goblinz Publishing, renowned for titles like Overboss and Oaken, has launched its latest Android game: Ozymandias. This 4X strategy game, reminiscent of the Civilization series, offers a fast-paced, streamlined experience focused on exploration, expansion, exploitation, and extermination.
Blazing Speed
Set in the Bronze Age, Ozymandias immerses players in a world of ancient Mediterranean and European civilizations. While retaining the core strategic elements of a classic 4X game—city building, army raising, and conquest—it distinguishes itself through its simplified mechanics and rapid gameplay.
Unlike many 4X games that demand meticulous resource management, Ozymandias minimizes micromanagement, prioritizing speed and efficiency. Matches typically conclude within 90 minutes, making it comparable to a board game session. Simultaneous turns further accelerate the pace of play.
The game features eight detailed historical maps and 52 unique empires, each with distinct characteristics that require adaptable strategies. Multiple game modes are available, including solo, multiplayer, and asynchronous options. This simplification, however, might be perceived by some as overly simplistic. Intrigued? Ready to Conquer?
Ozymandias, developed by The Secret Games Company using Unreal Engine 4, is available now on Android via the Google Play Store for $2.79. A PC version was released on Steam in March 2022.
