Letterlike Is a New Word Game That’s Like Balatro But with Scrabble!

Wordsmiths now have a new game, a roguelike word game as per the devs, to try out. It’s called Letterlike which is like a crossover between Balatro and Scrabble. Vocabulary and roguelike randomness? Yeah, that’s unheard of!

Make Words in Letterlike

The game is a roguelike which means every run is a fresh mix of letters and challenges all procedurally generated. There are endless possibilities that end up in endless triumphs.

You’ll start each game with a set of letters, and your goal is to make meaningful words, score points and advance through levels. Every level is divided into three rounds.

To move on, you need to rack up enough points by crafting the big brain words, much like Scrabble. You only get five chances (or lives) per round. So, use them wisely.

If you’re staring at a pile of garbage letters, don’t panic. You can ditch some of them, but discards are limited as well, so choose carefully.

You also get a rearrange mode which lets you drag, drop, shuffle and do whatever it takes to make the letters work for you.

In the final round of each level in Letterlike, a special ability kicks in that turns some letters useless. Basically, they will give you zero points.

You can spend your points and rewards on items to boost your runs. Some buffs are automatically added onto your game, while others are locked until you reach a certain level. Gems you collect will also help you snag powerful upgrades, making future runs easier.

Will You Try It?

Letterlike is simple, minimalist yet fun. The game lets you replay specific runs with friends using shared seeds. For instance, if you get a cursed letter combo, share it and let your buddies suffer too!

The game is ad-free with a single purchase. You can play it offline, too. And if you’re curious, you can try it out for free with the demo version. If interested, then check out Letterlike on the Google Play Store and give the demo a spin.
