Warhorse Studios has just rolled out a major free update for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II – version 1.2, packed with exciting new features. Two of the standout additions are the native integration of mods through Steam Workshop and a fresh barber shop system.
The Steam Workshop integration streamlines the modding experience by allowing players to download and install mods directly within the game, bypassing the need for external platforms. This feature's effectiveness hinges on mod creators uploading their content to Steam Workshop. Currently, the selection is limited but includes intriguing options like:
- Free Saving: This mod grants players unlimited saves by constantly replenishing the "Saviour Schnapps" item.
- Helmet of Henry VIII: Adds a horned helmet inspired by historical designs to your arsenal.
- Tourist: Disables NPC reactions to trespassing, enabling exploration of restricted story locations.
- Pebbles the Zebra: Transforms your horse into a zebra, complete with a unique visual effect.
Although the current mod offerings are modest, the vibrant modding community is anticipated to grow quickly. With over a thousand mods already on Nexus Mods, it's expected that creators will soon share their work on both platforms. While Steam Workshop may not match Nexus Mods in scale, it's only a matter of time before popular mods find their way there.

In addition to mod support, players can now visit NPC barbers in Rattay and Kuttenberg to customize their hairstyle or beard. No matter the style chosen, a visit to the barber temporarily boosts the protagonist's Charisma stat, adding a strategic element to character customization.
Update 1.2 extends well beyond these headline features. The game's official website hosts an extensive changelog detailing over a thousand fixes and improvements across almost every facet of the game. These enhancements encompass balancing adjustments, refined animations, and more realistic NPC behavior. Notably, the crime system has been fine-tuned for greater accuracy.
Other significant updates include:
- Revised daily schedules for NPCs, resulting in more realistic routines.
- Enhanced horse riding mechanics and improved horse trading systems.
- Better character visuals and overall performance, especially in Kuttenberg, the game's largest city, and during large-scale battles.
Warhorse Studios plans to discuss these changes in depth during a developer livestream next Thursday. The studio remains dedicated to supporting Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, with three paid DLC expansions scheduled for release in spring, summer, and winter.
With the integration of Steam Workshop, new cosmetic options, and numerous gameplay refinements, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II continues to evolve, offering players an increasingly immersive medieval experience.
