Kingambit Debuts in Pokémon Go's Crown Clash

by Isabella Jan 04,2026
  • The Crown Clash event runs from May 10th through 18th
  • Kingambit arrives alongside special crown-adorned Nidoqueen and Nidoking variants
  • Numerous rewards await participating trainers

While trainers prepare for Sweet Discoveries, Pokémon Go gears up for its regal Crown Clash event launching May 10-18. This limited-time battle extravaganza introduces evolution opportunities for the formidable Kingambit, crown-themed collectibles, shiny Pokémon encounters, and bonus XP rewards for evolving.

Kingambit, the fearsome Big Blade Pokémon, finally appears in Pokémon Go during Crown Clash. To obtain this powerful fighter, trainers must evolve Bisharp under special conditions - keeping it as their buddy while defeating 15 Dark- or Steel-type Pokémon in raids. Your Bisharp doesn't need to participate directly, just accompany you during victorious battles.

The event also welcomes royal debutantes: Nidoqueen and Nidoking sporting majestic new crowns. Lucky trainers might encounter their rare shiny versions too. These regal Pokémon will dominate three-star raids, while one-star raids feature Sneasel, Klink, and Pawniard.

Wild encounters receive a royal treatment with increased spawns of Slowpoke (potential King's Rock source), Slakoth, Piplup, Combee, Snivy, and Litleo. Pawniard appearances also get boosted for fortunate trainers.

The event's double XP evolution bonus makes this perfect for clearing your backlog. Complete event-specific Field Research and Collection Challenges to earn additional XP, Stardust, and Pawniard encounters. Level 31+ trainers gain guaranteed Candy XL upon completing evolution challenges.

PokéStops will host special Showcases featuring your best crown-themed catches. Plus, the Pokémon Go Web Store offers exclusive event bundles for optimal preparation.
