King of Crabs - Invasion: Mobile PvP Crustacean Action Returns

by Aurora May 20,2025

If you've been following our site for a while, you might remember our review of the quirky battle royale game, King of Crabs, back in 2019. Although it didn't quite resonate with our reviewer, the developer, Robot Squid, is now taking another swing at the franchise with the upcoming release of King of Crabs - Invasion, set to launch on iOS and Android on May 30th.

This time, instead of sticking to the battle royale formula, Robot Squid is diving into the real-time strategy (RTS) genre. Inspired by games like Age of War, King of Crabs - Invasion challenges you to outsmart your opponent on a linear battlefield. Your strategy will hinge on choosing the right units to deploy, from swarms of regular crabs to more specialized units like catapults and mace-wielding crustaceans. Each battlefield presents unique challenges and obstacles, making victory a thrilling yet demanding endeavor.

It's clear that King of Crabs - Invasion is channeling the chaotic crustacean combat of its predecessor into the RTS format. For a concept as whimsical as crabs battling to the death, transitioning to a straightforward yet engaging RTS seems like a fitting evolution.

However, given the initial critique that the humor in the original King of Crabs didn't hold up over time, there's a concern that the novelty of King of Crabs - Invasion might similarly wear off quickly. But there's only one way to find out for sure, and that's by diving into the game when it releases on May 30th!
