Eldgear, the latest tactical RPG from KEMCO, transports players to the enchanting world of Argenia, a land brimming with magic and mystery. As you embark on this epic journey, you'll uncover ancient machines and strive to alter the destiny of this fantasy realm.
What's The Story Of Eldgear?
Set in Argenia, a world on the cusp of transitioning from the medieval era into a magical age, Eldgear unfolds amidst a backdrop of numerous nations squeezed into uncharted territories. The discovery of ancient ruins teeming with potent magical technology ignites fierce competition among these nations, culminating in a devastating war. Although the conflict subsides, the looming threat of renewed hostilities keeps tensions high.
At the heart of the story is Eldia, a global task force dedicated to preventing another catastrophic war. Their mission is to research, monitor, and control access to these ancient ruins, ensuring that the powerful weapons and machines within do not trigger another global conflict.
Combat System in Eldgear
Eldgear's combat system, while turn-based, offers a variety of strategic options. It may not be overly complex, but the mechanics, such as the EMA and EXA systems, add depth to the gameplay.
- EMA (Embedding Abilities): This system allows you to equip your units with up to three abilities that can be used at any point during battle. These can range from stat boosts to tactical moves like Stealth, which can hide your units from enemies, or acting as a bodyguard for your teammates.
- EXA (Expanding Abilities): Once your units reach maximum Tension in battle, the EXA system kicks in, enabling them to unleash devastating, high-impact moves.
Additionally, the GEAR machines in Eldgear are shrouded in mystery and power. Some serve as guardians, while others pose a dangerous threat, adding an intriguing layer to the game's narrative and combat dynamics.
