Kardboard Kings Debuts: Card Shop Simulator Thrills Collectors

Crunchyroll's Android app now features Kardboard Kings, a captivating single-player card shop management game. Initially launched on PC in February 2022, this title from Henry's House, Oscar Brittain, and Rob Gross (published by Akupara Games) has made its way to consoles and now mobile devices via Crunchyroll. The Kardboard Kings Experience:

Players step into the shoes of Harry Hsu, inheriting his father's card shop. His father, a renowned card collector and Warlock champion, leaves Harry to navigate the exciting world of card buying, selling, and trading.

Harry's unlikely business partner? Giuseppe, a fast-talking, deal-making cockatoo with surprisingly keen instincts for profitable trades. Together, they run a seaside card shop, striving to satisfy customers (or, if the mood strikes, subtly overcharging them!).

The game boasts charming characters, witty dialogue, and references to other card games and anime. Over 100 uniquely designed cards, complete with quirky illustrations and shiny variants, add to the appeal.

Gameplay Details:

The core gameplay loop is simple: buy low, sell high, and profit. However, as the game progresses, card conditions and set rarities fluctuate, adding layers of complexity. Factors like foil finishes and card popularity significantly impact value.

Kardboard Kings also includes a roguelite deck-building mode on Card Game Island, where players face challenging duelists. Additional features include hosting tournaments, organizing booster pack parties, and staging clearance sales to manage inventory.
