这款游戏于六个月前的六月正式公布，并通过预告片首次亮相。暂定名为《Kaiju No. 8: The Game》的它，计划通过Steam平台登陆PC，并同时推出安卓和iOS版本。游戏将采用免费游玩模式，并提供可选的微交易。但目前游戏仅限日本地区发行，尚未公布全球发售计划，具体上线日期也尚未公开。
