The much-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 will feature a notable pricing difference between Japan and the rest of the world, reflecting the console's varied language system options. This new gaming system will come in two distinct versions: a Japanese-language system, exclusive to Japan, and a Multi-Language System, available globally.
Switch 2 Will Have 2 Language System Versions

In Japan, the Japanese-language version of the Nintendo Switch 2 will be priced at approximately $330. In contrast, the Multi-Language System version, designed for a global audience, will carry a higher price tag of $449.99. This over $100 price difference can be largely attributed to the current economic conditions, with the yen being weaker against the USD, affecting tourist purchasing behavior in Japan.
While the Japanese-language version is exclusive to Japan and only accessible to Nintendo Accounts set to the Japan region, residents in Japan can still opt for the Multi-Language System if they prefer. However, the Japanese version will only support the Japanese language and will be limited to software available on the Japanese Nintendo eShop.
Nintendo advises fans who wish to enjoy the Switch 2 in languages other than Japanese to purchase the Multi-Language System version. Further details about this version will be disclosed on April 4.
Switch 2 Will Be Sold By Lottery At The My Nintendo Store

Securing a Nintendo Switch 2 will involve participating in a lottery system through the My Nintendo Store. Additionally, various retailers and online shops across Japan will start accepting reservations or lottery entries from April 24, based on stock availability.
