Insomniac Games almost gave us Resistance 4. While a pitch was made and the concept was strong, according to Insomniac founder and retiring president Ted Price, timing and market opportunity ultimately prevented its development. In a recent interview with Kinda Funny Games, Price revealed this unproduced title as a personal favorite, highlighting the team's passion for the series and its potential for further exploration of the Chimera's origins and the compelling alternate history it established.
The Resistance series, a collection of first-person shooters developed by Insomniac after their Ratchet & Clank adventures, depicts an alternate 1951 where alien invaders threaten the UK. Three games were released for the PlayStation 3 before Insomniac shifted focus to projects like Marvel's Spider-Man and newer Ratchet & Clank installments.
Price recently announced his retirement from Insomniac Games after a 30-year tenure. Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang have been appointed as Co-Studio Heads to succeed him. Insomniac's latest release, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, recently launched on PC, with Marvel's Wolverine slated to be their next project.
