Infinity Nikki and its multiplayer-focused 1.5 update have arrived on Steam, but they've been accompanied by a flurry of controversy. Infold Games' stylish dress-up adventure, which was exclusive to the Epic Game Store for months, finally landed on Valve's digital platform. However, instead of celebrating, fans encountered a slew of technical issues, confusing design changes, and demanding outfit requirements. In response, the developers issued an apology and promised compensation, but the battle for Infinity Nikki is far from resolved.

PC players eagerly awaiting the Steam release of Infinity Nikki were disappointed by technical problems such as crashes and instability that prevented the game from launching. While technical issues at launch are not uncommon, the community quickly grew frustrated with more than just performance hiccups.
The introduction of two new five-star outfits, Snowbound Ballad and Undying Ember, each comprising 11 pieces, has stirred discontent. Players now face the daunting task of up to 220 pulls to complete these sets, a significant increase from what they were accustomed to. This change, implemented without prior notice, has raised concerns about future outfit requirements becoming even more demanding.
Adding to the confusion, Infold extended the Crown of Miraland: Peak Arena event from two to three weeks. This unexpected alteration, combined with ongoing technical issues and new monetization strategies, prompted a strong reaction from the Infinity Nikki Chinese player base on the social media platform RedNote. The issue rapidly escalated into a global movement, with players worldwide calling for a boycott of the game on Steam, leaving negative reviews, and uninstalling it across all platforms.
"Holding back your pulls for a couple of days can help show we want IN to remain fun and fair for all players," said Reddit user kiaxxl in a call-to-action post. They highlighted the importance of the initial days in measuring the success of new content in gacha games, urging players to delay their pulls to send a message to the developers.
The community's response has been effective, as evidenced by the game's "Mixed" rating on Steam. Players have been vocal in their negative reviews, warning potential newcomers to steer clear until their demands are met and issues resolved.
In response to the widespread discontent, Infold issued an apology letter across its official channels, acknowledging the technical issues and promising improvements in communication regarding future adjustments. The letter included commitments to revert Mira Crown to end on May 16 and start the next season on the same day, along with compensation in the form of 10 Revelation Crystals, 10 Resonance Crystals, and 1200 Diamonds.
Apology Letter Regarding Version 1.5 Gaming Experience
Dear Stylists,
Hope this message finds you well.
First and foremost, we would like to extend our sincerest apologies. We are truly sorry that we were unable to provide you with a stable experience upon the release of the new… pic.twitter.com/YEjpGQpKho— Infinity Nikki (@InfinityNikkiEN) April 29, 2025
While some players see this as a victory, others remain skeptical, particularly about the decision to maintain the 11-piece requirement for new outfits. Despite promises of better communication, concerns persist about the future of five-star outfit requirements.
I wish you would finally chance the drop rate.. it cant be that i need 200 pulls to get a 5star and then you drop like 5 banners within weeks?! Make the rate lower or give us more diamonds to be able to get crystals.. this is not fun!

The community has celebrated the swift response to their concerns, but boycotters are urging continued pressure. "Think about it: CN players are pointing out that if we accept the 11-piece outfits and pity as it is, most new 5 stars will **be** 11 pieces," said Reddit user EdensAsmr. They warned that future updates with multiple 11-piece 5-star banners would require even more resources from players.
