Melpot Studio has released the first trailer for its upcoming figure skating simulation game, ICE on the Edge, launching on PC via Steam in 2026. This innovative game blends vibrant anime-inspired visuals with incredibly realistic skating choreography, created in partnership with professional figure skaters.
In ICE on the Edge, you become a coach, mentoring skaters and guiding their careers. Your responsibilities include designing performance routines, selecting music, creating costumes, and choosing technical elements. The ultimate aim? Lead your athletes to victory at the prestigious fictional competition, "On the Edge." The game's choreography was developed with input from renowned Japanese figure skater Akiko Suzuki, who also worked on the anime series Medalist.
The developers embarked on this project with limited figure skating knowledge, but their dedication shines through. They immersed themselves in the sport's complexities, from understanding the intricacies of different jumps to mastering the scoring system, guaranteeing an authentic and engaging experience.
Combining anime artistry and realistic skating mechanics, ICE on the Edge promises to enthrall both gamers and figure skating fans.
