Monster Hunter Wilds is gearing up for a second Open Beta, offering a fresh chance for players to experience the game before its official launch and showcasing new features. Here's how to join the hunt!
New Monster, New Opportunities
Missed the first Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta? Fear not! A second beta test is scheduled for the first two weeks of February. Following the success of the initial beta, this second phase provides another opportunity to explore the game before its February 28th release. Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto made the announcement via a video on the official Monster Hunter YouTube channel.
The Open Beta will run in two sessions: February 6th-9th and February 13th-16th, available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. This iteration includes exciting new content, notably the addition of the Gypceros, a fan-favorite monster from the series.
Character data from the first beta is transferable to this beta and, subsequently, to the full game upon release. However, progress won't carry over between beta sessions. Participants receive in-game rewards: a decorative Stuffed Felyne Teddy (attachable to weapons or Seikret) and a special bonus item pack to aid early-game progression.
Tsujimoto explained the decision for a second beta, stating, "We’ve heard from many of you that you missed the chance to take part in the first beta, or that you wanted to play again, which is why we decided to have a second one. In the meantime, the team is working hard on finishing development on the full game." While a pre-launch community update detailed upcoming improvements, these changes won't be included in the second beta.
Monster Hunter Wilds launches on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on February 28th, 2025. Get ready to hunt!
