Honkai: Star Rail v3.1 Leak: Free 4-Star Character Selector Revealed

Summary

  • A leak suggests that Version 3.1 of Honkai: Star Rail will include a free 4-star character selector, featuring four units to choose from.
  • Players may select from Qingque, Pela, Serval, or Asta during a limited-time event.
  • The game has been focusing more on releasing 5-star characters, leading to fewer new 4-star units.

A recent leak from Honkai: Star Rail has revealed exciting news for players: Version 3.1 will introduce a free 4-star character selector as part of a limited-time event. As Honkai: Star Rail gears up for its 3.0 cycle, fans can look forward to new gameplay features and characters.

Currently, there are 23 4-star characters available in Honkai: Star Rail. While not all of these characters are top-tier, some like the recently released Moze and Gallagher have gained popularity due to their versatility. However, to maximize their potential, 4-star characters often require higher Eidolon levels. In previous updates, such as Versions 2.1 and 2.7, Honkai: Star Rail provided players with opportunities to obtain these Eidolons through free character selectors. The latest leak hints at the return of this event in Version 3.1, offering a choice between four units.

According to prominent leaker HomDGCat, the upcoming free 4-star character selector in Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.1 will allow players to choose from Qingque, Pela, Serval, and Asta. This selector is expected to be part of a timed event, similar to those in previous patches. All the characters included in this selector were introduced during the 1.0 cycle, with Asta being a character that players receive early in the game. Recent rumors suggest that future character releases may focus solely on 5-stars, indicating that Amphoreus might not introduce new 4-star units anytime soon.

Honkai: Star Rail Leak Teases New 4-Star Character Selector in Version 3.1

  • Qingque: Quantum, Erudition
  • Pela: Ice, Nihility
  • Serval: Lightning, Erudition
  • Asta: Fire, Harmony

While Pela and Asta continue to serve as reliable supports, Qingque and Serval have been outshined by newer DPS characters. All of these units are also available for purchase in the in-game store. Since the release of Penacony, Honkai: Star Rail has shown a trend of favoring 5-star character releases over 4-stars, with nearly 40 five-star characters now in the game. Amphoreus is expected to introduce eight more 5-star characters, and a crossover event with Fate/Stay Night might add two additional ones.

During the 2.0 cycle, only four new 4-star characters were introduced, including an alternate form of March 7th. It remains uncertain whether Amphoreus will continue this pattern, but if the leaks are accurate, future 4-star character selectors might struggle to offer new options. Nevertheless, players should be excited about the upcoming Version 3.0, which will introduce The Herta and Aglaea. To prepare for these updates, Honkai: Star Rail has recently released new redeem codes for free Stellar Jades and materials.
