Helldivers 2 is preparing to unveil exciting updates, with developer Arrowhead Game Studios expressing strong confidence in their upcoming reveal. Or as Arrowhead's CEO colorfully puts it, players might want to mentally - and perhaps literally - prepare themselves.
As reported by VideoGamer, Arrowhead CEO Shams Jorjani engaged in a Discord discussion about Helldivers 2 when a community member inquired about future content. His memorable response?
"You'll shit your pants."
While specific details remain under wraps, this bold statement strongly hints at the game-changing nature of the upcoming content. And yes, it suggests potential consequences for players' trousers.
Jorjani addressed several other topics during the Q&A, including plans to expand melee weapon options and thoughtful responses regarding content pacing concerns. The discussion also revealed interesting insights into the technical challenges of maintaining Helldivers 2, balancing developer transparency with humorous warnings about future reveals.
Earlier teases included imagery of a flag featuring both sharp and textured elements. Arrowhead currently plans to announce its next Warbond on May 8, with "more exciting news to follow shortly after."
In a recent IGN interview, production director Alex Bolle emphasized the studio's long-term commitment to Helldivers 2, stating they aim to support the game for "years and years" while maintaining creative integrity.
"As we better understand live-service operations - and we're still learning daily - we can implement creative systems we wouldn't have considered at launch," Bolle explained. "Having worked on live games before, it's exciting to adapt concepts from other titles while preserving our unique identity. This creative expansion is what I'm most anticipating."
The gaming community won't have to wait long to discover what Arrowhead has in store - players may want to keep spare pants handy when the reveals begin next week.
