Gunblade, Bridge Map Debut in Rivals Update 9

by Finn Feb 20,2025

Roblox's Rivals FPS experience receives Update 9, introducing the Gunblade and Bridge map. Developer Nosniy Games' patch notes highlight these additions, alongside minor skin modifications and weapon renamings. This update is smaller than recent releases, prioritizing the new content.

The Gunblade, a versatile rifle-blade hybrid, is a significant addition, ideally suited for the new Bridge map. This close-quarters combat arena, set in Seoul and created by @GreatGuyBoom, offers intense, fast-paced gameplay.

Rivals Update 9 introduces the Gunblade to its arsenal.
Notably, Update 9 omits bug fixes, balance adjustments, and quality-of-life improvements. Nosniy Games explains this decision, stating these will be incorporated alongside the highly anticipated Ranked mode in the next major update. They assure players that feedback is being considered.

Previous updates, such as Update 7 (introducing the Energy Rifle, Pistols, and Crossbow), demonstrate the game's consistent content updates since its May launch. For more on Rivals, including active codes, click here.

Rivals Update 9 Patch Notes:

NEW MAP:

  • The Bridge map: An arena-style duel zone in Seoul, Korea, created by @GreatGuyBoom.

NEW CHALLENGES:

  • Winter Spotlight challenges replaced with new Bridge map challenges rewarding keys and the limited-time Bungeoppang charm.

OTHER:

  • Minor modifications to Demon Shorty and Demon Uzi skins.
  • Renamed Hexxed Flare Gun, Hexxed Candle, and Hexxed wrap to Vexed Flare Gun, Vexed Candle, and Vexed, respectively.

DEVELOPER'S NOTE:

The developers emphasize their focus on the new map, celebrating the Korean community, and confirm the upcoming Ranked mode as the priority for the next major update. They reiterate their commitment to addressing bug fixes, balance, and quality-of-life improvements before the Ranked mode launch.
