Playing cricket in a tight alley is often considered more fun than on an open field, especially in India. An indie Indian studio, 5th Ocean Studios, has launched their latest cricket game, Gully Gangs: Street Cricket, in Open Beta on Android, bringing the excitement of street cricket to your mobile device.
Not Your Usual Cricket Sim
Gully Gangs: Street Cricket is a unique 4v4 multiplayer game set in the heart of Indian gullies—narrow alleys that are the essence of street cricket. This game marks the first-ever 4v4 street cricket experience, complete with rooftop catches, scooters blocking your path, and the occasional yelling from nosy uncles warning about broken windows. Adding to the fun, you can also play in 1v1 mode.
The game allows you to execute power moves and communicate with your gang via voice chat. You can trash-talk, sledge opponents, drop emojis mid-match, and even pull off some sneaky tricks. The settings are authentic Indian neighborhoods, bustling with life, where you'll play with broken stumps, makeshift pitches, and experience wild bounces off uneven walls.
Additionally, Gully Gangs: Street Cricket offers extensive customization options. You can build your gang, deck them out in funky outfits, and unlock various skins to make your team stand out.
Gully Gangs: Street Cricket Is Now in Open Beta
5th Ocean Studios is actively planning a range of updates for Gully Gangs: Street Cricket, including new street maps, fresh outfits, regular events, clan wars, and even an esports mode in the future. They're also introducing leaderboards, daily and weekly challenges, and organized gang vs. gang matchups.
Currently available only on Android, the game is set to expand to iOS and Steam. Full controller support and cross-platform features are in development. If you're eager to experience the thrill of street cricket, you can download Gully Gangs: Street Cricket from the Google Play Store.
